Hotels, resorts, serviced apartments and other hospitality properties all share the same ambition: to create a positive, memorable experience for every guest — including families travelling with children.
For parents, a hotel stay may involve dinners, meetings, weddings, spa appointments, business commitments, leisure activities or simply time to relax. But those opportunities can be difficult to enjoy when suitable childcare is unavailable.
That creates a specialist opportunity for childcare professionals who understand how to provide care inside a hospitality environment — professionally, discreetly and in a way that works for both the family and the property around them.
The KL Childcare Academy Hotel & Hospitality Childcare Specialist Programme is for childcare professionals and entrepreneurs who want to understand how childcare can be planned, built and delivered professionally for guests staying in hotels, resorts, serviced apartments and other hospitality settings.
You may already know how to care for children — what is likely to be new is understanding what changes when childcare is delivered inside somebody else’s property and brand, where you may be working alongside parents, concierge teams, Front Office, Guest Services, duty managers, housekeeping, security and other hospitality professionals.
A hotel room is not a family home. Guests may be unfamiliar with you. Children may be tired, excited or out of routine. The property has its own standards, access arrangements, safety procedures and expectations. And depending on how the booking reaches you, the guest and the hotel may have very different responsibilities within the same childcare arrangement.
That’s where this programme comes in.
The programme covers both sides of Hotel & Hospitality Childcare: the childcare itself, and the business behind it.
On the childcare side, you’ll learn how to prepare for and care for children within unfamiliar hotel and hospitality environments; support settling, routines and bedtime; work with babies and different age groups; manage feeding, allergies, medication, personal care and additional needs; assess rooms and shared spaces; prepare for fire and evacuation; understand safeguarding and professional boundaries; manage Handover-In and Handover-Out; and respond professionally when something changes during a booking.
You’ll also explore what professional hotel-childcare delivery actually looks like — from the Day-Before Confirmation and property arrival through to supplier sign-in, the KLCA Room & Club Safety Check, Handover-In, delivering care inside a live property, incident recording, Handover-Out, complaints, follow-up and service recovery.
On the business side, you’ll learn to build the service itself — deciding which Hotel & Hospitality Childcare Service Formats you want to offer, understanding your market and different guest types, creating your Provider Profile, developing packages, pricing your services, preparing your business and supplier documents and understanding the registration, insurance and compliance questions that may apply to your particular service.
You’ll also learn how work can reach you through different Client Routes and property relationships — including guests approaching you directly, concierge or Guest Services referrals, Recommended Supplier arrangements, Hotel-Contracted Supplier arrangements, hotel groups and wider hospitality settings.
You’ll learn how to position your service for both guests and properties, approach potential hotel partners, prepare a professional Supplier Pack, respond to enquiries, assess whether a booking is right for you and move an appropriate enquiry from first conversation through to preparation, professional delivery and follow-up.
By the end, you’ll understand how a professional Hotel & Hospitality Childcare service can be:
planned · built · priced · marketed · booked · prepared · delivered · reviewed
Build Your Service as You Learn
This isn’t a programme where you simply attend classes and collect notes.
Throughout the programme, you’ll develop the practical foundations of your own Hotel & Hospitality Childcare service — working through your market, Provider Profile, Service Formats, Delivery Configuration, packages, pricing, compliance questions, Supplier Documentation Pack, guest and property documents, outreach strategy, booking systems, safety procedures and delivery processes.
You’ll build tools that help you understand not only what you want to offer, but also how the service needs to operate professionally around the guest, the child and the hospitality property.
So you finish not simply knowing what Hotel & Hospitality Childcare is, but understanding how the different parts of a professional service fit together and what you need to establish before accepting and delivering real bookings.
Learners completing the full programme also follow KLCA’s structured portfolio and assessment pathway.

How the Programme Is Delivered
The full programme is 12 specialist sessions across 6 modules, available in two ways:
For Individual Learners
The complete Specialist Programme is delivered through private 1-to-1 live virtual training with a KLCA trainer.
The programme is structured as six private 2-hour appointments — one per module — allowing the sessions to focus directly on the Hotel & Hospitality Childcare service you personally want to develop while receiving individual guidance throughout your learning journey.
Across the programme, you will work progressively through the different stages of developing and operating your service rather than treating each subject as a separate topic.
For Organisations
KLCA also delivers the programme as a private organisational cohort.
Organisations can commission the Hotel & Hospitality Childcare Specialist Programme for their own learners, participants, childcare professionals or aspiring childcare entrepreneurs.
Delivery can be arranged:
Live Online · In Person · Blended
Private cohort delivery allows KLCA to work with the organisation around its participant group, intended outcomes and programme-delivery requirements.
This can be particularly suitable for organisations supporting:
childcare workforce development · employability · enterprise · return-to-work programmes · adult learning · vocational development · business start-up · hospitality workforce development
It may also be suitable for childcare agencies, training organisations and other organisations interested in helping experienced childcare professionals develop specialist services for the hospitality market.
A Certificate of Programme Completion will be issued at the end of the programme, subject to the applicable programme requirements.
